there were always discussions among us right from the time in school when we had become old enough to differentiate good and bad that who is our favourite teacher. we had hours of dicussions which sometimes ended with a physical fights without any winner of the honours BEST TEACHER . bot there was clearly a positive bias towards teachers who had never even seeen a stick .all of us loved to attend their classes and put a star on the day when we had a lecture of that teacher, and also make a demon the day when we had a lecture of spanking teacher. the boat happily sailed along till the time i was doing my graduation but slowly a theory started to emerge in my mind that when i checked the results of subjects of the stone hearted teachers gave more marks than others. though you may differ with me but i realized that infact i kept awake for studying subjects which if not read would end me with spanking. and i do have a little feeling that theese teachers dont hate their students but actually want them to reach higher horizons. i admit that there was my maths teacher in std. 10th who usually made me the first one to show the homework and probably helped mee achieve 90% marks which i never achieved afterwards. i think she is my favourite teacher. what about you people?

You may say that spanking teachers have a good intention towards their students but nowadays it's not allowed anymore. There are some better ways to make a child learn than by spanking which is not favored by other students especially those who are emotionally hurt students. I learned my lessons witout the teacher spanking me and if ever the teacher did I would probably have quit schooling.
Being polite doesn't meant not giving punishment to students. I am a teacher too and if my students are not behaving or doing their homeworks and seatworks, I punish them bmaking them copy a story from a story book. If they are noisey I ask them to write one hundred sentences with "I promised not to be noisy" something like that. but copying a story works better because it practices their handwriting and they get to copy the correct spelling.
I'm not saying that I'm one of the best teachers but I'm a proud teacher of my ESL/EFL tudents who after spending 5-10 moths with me they can go to the mainstream and even if I was strict with them they still love me and they realized that I just wanted the best for them.
