I have no idea but I really don't like to be looked at when I'm eating.

Usually i don't notice any people starring when I'm eating in public and i do not stare at people who eat .. I think it's impolite thing to do.

In my case, probably because nobody's seen anyone bring down a Volvo and eat it without a knife and fork.
