Would you like to stop receiving junk mail in your mailbox?

How often do you go to retrieve your mail from your mailbox and find that 90% of the mail is junk mail? I get so many pieces of mail from bank and similar institutions asking me to open credit cards, lines of credit, money transfers, etc. It is sickening and annoying. I have signed up to remove my name from mailing list and the junk continues to roll in.
It is a total abuse of the environment and something needs to be done about it. What is your take on this?

I wish I knew the answer. I get more junk mail than anything else. The worst is the e-mails where they don't even give you a link to remove your name. I'm getting about 25 of those kind a day. My isp says the only thing I can do is change my e-mail address, but I like my address, so I'm stuck for now.
