Cell phone drivers - lock em up?

It seems like every other car that I see on the road has a driver with a cell phone pressed to their ear. They will weave, slow down to a crawl, and change lanes and turn in front of you, without even looking. I'd rather drive behind a drunk. I don't understand why states like mine don't have laws against using your car as a rolling phone booth.

I totally agree! It's almost to the point that if we locked up all the cell phone drivers, there would be no traffic at all. More reason to lock them up!

In my country many people use their cell phones during driving a car. I think it's dangerous but many of them don't think like that. Maybe they don't want to use special headphones because they think they're excellent drivers??

I agree. I don't think people realize how badly they drive while they're talking on the cell phone.

I wish it was against the law in the United States. I think some places it is, but unfortunately not where I live.

I have seen the same thing here in Las Vegas, and this city is very busy with so many people from all over the country. But they all seem to have a need to have to be on the cell phone well driving. I don't understand what is sooo important that they need to be on the phone and try to drive at the same time. Just the other day a woman was on the cell phone ran a red light and hit a car and then ran into a pond. Thank God no one got hurt. We have had some accidents that people have gotten killed from someone being on the cell phone. You would think the Laws would be more harsh on them. My husband has a cell phone for his work, but once he leaves work and is on his way home he doesn't talk on it. If I should happen to call him well he is driving he will pull over like into a parking lot and then we will talk. I don't try to call him when he is driving, as a News station here showed how you don't think right well talking on a cell phone and drive. The reason is your mind is on the talking and not paying attention to your driving skills. Sure some people can multi task, but not very well when driving.

how many of you switched of your mobiles when you are on the move? thats the best way to avoid calls during your drive to your destination.else your destination is in the hands of god. I dont switch of the mobile, instead I do have a handsfree receiver, which I use during driving. It is better to use such things instead of driving with one hand, or with the head seized to one side,, which is very dangerous. I saw my cab driver doing this regularly, and I asked, whether he really loves his family..From thatday, he is not using the mobile while driving.
