hi nice to see that interested in programmig.
programming is nothing but a step by step instruction to computer to perform certain task.
you can begin with C language
with looking after dos base programs then go on further c++ C# enough for life

First try to learn your oerating system since it has so many features that i bet you didn't knew they exist. Then you should advance on integrated software applications like Paint, Windows Movie Maker, etc
Then if you like you can try to enter the roam of any other application based on your interests - MsOffice, graphics (Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw), webdesign (Macromedia Dreamweaver), video editing (VirtualDub), etc

The operating system is the platform on which your computer is running, like Windows OS, Linux, MAC, etc
Let me know the area that you're interested in, if there's a specific one, like webdesign, programming, graphics and i may be able to make some sugestions for you.
