yes, there are so many channels available, but i think
you have to choose correct channels to watch as per your need, which should be eventually educative and entertaining too.

I should say both, I like watching tv that is entertaining at the same time educational. If this two doesnt go along with each other probably tv shows will surely be as boring as it could be. There is a need for a tv station to come up with a quality and entertaining show because if one is lacking this tv shows will only be a crap.

Most of the time, a purely educational tv show can be boring. Viewers are selective of the kind of shows they watch on tv and usually choose entertaining. Many still adhere to the primary function of television... to entertain. I concur at some point that there's a need for those workers to relax their muscles after a days work. The need to laugh at comical shows is still necessary in combating depression. But this does not exclude purely educational shows in the list although they are hardly placed on the topmost spot among troubled minds and tired bodies. purely educational shows May also defeat its purpose of educating. not all have the patience to withstand boredom for the sake of learning except one is really committed to learning... and these people are few in number. by inserting the entertainment factor in educational shows, i believe that more people would be enticed to listen and learn. this would surely prolong a person's span of attention. in doing so, it must be noted that the purpose is to educate while entertainment only comes next.
likewise, watching nonsense gag shows waste a lot of time. the educational aspect of entertainment is to be considered in the sense that people can infer insights from entertainment shows, relate to the stories or topics, or develop their practical, if not mental, skills in watching them. after all, education cannot be limited to scholastic or academic topics.
