E gold?

I see a lot of you mention E-Gold. I understand that it is a online banking system like Paypal? Am I correct?
Would you like to tell me a bit more about E-Gold. Is it secure, and how is it compared to Paypal? Do you have accounts with both E-Gold and Paypal?

It is basically the same as paypal. It's preferred by others like me since we don't have paypal yet in our country. I think its just like paypal although paypal ofcourse is more widely used. The system is secured too i think since a lot of my friends have used this before.
