I thought that they were both good. The film is very true to the book and it was well done. the book leaves you with a deeper understanding of the idea but I think you should read the book and then see the film.

I dunno, I mean i have read the book and afterwards I felt incomplete upon seeing the movie, It might just be me.
but I still prefer the book. :)
