The name "God" now typically refers to the Abrahamic God of Judaism (El (god) YHVH), Christianity (God), and Islam (Allah). Though there are significant cultural divergences that are implied by these different names, "God" remains the common English translation for all. When I say God I am refering to God, the creator of the univers and everything in it. I am a Christian. I believe that God is God, the Alpha & Omega, begining & end. Love & truth.

Ikhnaton referred to God as "the Aten" which was the disk of the sun. He was not worshipping the sun but rather using the sun as an analogy of what God is like.
Zoroastrians worship Ahura Mazda, Ahura Mazda is seen as encompassing both Male and Female attributes (Ahura is masculine and Mazda is feminine), But for Zoroastrians God is never defined in terms that Christians or Muslims use for God, for instance, Zoroastrians do not refer to God as all-knowing, rather they call God, "wise."
