friendship is a valuable, treasured and unique thing.true love inspires the finer elements in the character of man and ennobles him. the same is true of genuine friendship. the capacity to undergo untold sufferings and make the utmost sacrifices without any regard for personal consequences is the hallmark or acid test of both genuine friendship and love. thus,friendship, like love ecomes idyllic in character. novelists have enshrined both friendship and love on the high pedestal of literature and made them the idols of millions. shakespear has immortalisted it by coining the phrase '' like juno's swans''.sincere love is the firm foundation of friendship.there is an unaffected concern for the welfare of a friend.no sacrifice is considered too great for the sake of a friend. oneshould be always prepared to render to one's friend all possible forms of personal help.that is the essence of true friendship. real friends are always prepared to swim or sink together in life.they share thier sorrow and happiness.we may find a large number of firends ever eager to share our happiness. many of us live in an age of delusion. we live in the artificail world of superficail friendships.we fail to examine and realise that our friendship with others is devoid of substance.this realisation comes to us in a very hard way through biitter experience.
