winter is the season of sunless skies, little light, shortening days, icy wind, mist and fog and frozen ground.this is not a season inspiring the average rambler with enthusiasm.during winter most people spend thier leisure hours indoors, chatting by the fireside. the bleak winter is associated with gloomy silence and rest.in winter snow lies deep.during these dark, dull days even nature is asleep.there is no warmth to stimulate bids to sing in the joyless days of winter, and the songs of the birds are dead. but there are exceptions nature's silence is broken now and then thrush begins singing form the bare garden tree.
