Paper or plastic or does it really even matter?

I prefer paper, but often just get plastic because it's somehow more convenient and reuseable and doesn't utilize trees. But I go back and forth. What do you choose?

I would have to say plastic. As you stated it is more convienent, reusable, and also you can recycle them with ease.

We don't get that choice anymore. I normally get plastic, but now I'm going to have to ask if I have a choice. I would prefer paper, but just took what I got so I didn't hold up the line.

I prefer paper whenever possible but there isn't much choice most of the time .. plastic is more common and convenient and I don't make an issue of it, just do what i can when i can..

Paper bags these days aren't made from trees, either. They're made from recycled materials, and after use, can be recycled again. Environmentally, they're 10 times more friendly than plastic. That being said, I use plastic. It's easier. Case closed.
