Well, President Bush is set to give his State of the Union address this evening, I believe at 9:00 PM Eastern and 6:00 PM Pacific. Just curious as to what you are all expecting to hear from him. My guess is, we'll hear a lot more about Iraq, maybe some more detail on his plans to increase troop numbers on the ground. I imagine he'll have to address how he plans to work with the new Congress on both foreign and domestic issues such as Iraq and tax cuts (or increases, who knows). I imagine fuel prices and what the government is doing, or should be doing, about alternative fuel sources will be discussed as well. Will you be watching/listening to the speech, or just catch the highlights later on the news? I don't expect anything earth-shattering/surprising to come from tonight's address, but I'll definitely be tuned in.

I have read the speech in its entirety and it does talk a bit about Iraq, the economy, earmarks in legislation, and education. Do not expect an earth-shattering or confrontational speech, just one that sets some priorities and goals to work for.

There is a section on developing alternative fuel sources also.

Just finished watching the speech as well as the Democratic response, and pretty much heard what I expected to hear...As far as the content, a lot of it sounded like his last three or four State of the Union addresses, honestly.

As expected... a lot of talk about his beliefs and a lot of promises for a better future that he will never and does not intend to ever follow up on.
