"Add this interest" ... what do you do ??

I am sure that the interests are endless. Because we create the interests as we go. If there is not an interest there, you can type it in and then it is created! Take for example if one wanted to have myLot as an interest under their frequented websites visited. There are these three interests created by users, myLot, mylots, and myLot.com. Ultimately, they are all the same place. But because people create these interests, mylot has three different referrance points of interests. With that said, I think that is why we can not pull up a list of interests. Sure, we can see some...but not all of them. So, I do not accept every interest that a discussion page throws me to after I respond. Because I know there is always going to be another interest out there that might even be misspelled. ha ha I think this is good but it is also bad. myLot may have to find a way to limit it or create a way for users to search the Interests area. Great question!

Yeah i know what you mean. There are occasions when i reply to certain topics like parenting, kids, marriages... which i am may like to respond sometimes as i feel competent to do that with all the info one has but i don't want to be added to my interests as i am very much single and not yet married. So i don't want anyone seeigmy profile to think ohterwise. So i always hit no thanks as it is only option for me as i only liked the topic and reply to it it is not my interest. I previouslty used to hit no thanks to all " add the intests" but i now see it can be useful if there is nothing worthwhile anywhere so i go my interests discussions. So i hit yes for interests that i really like and want ot be in my interests. Besiders you can always edit your interests.

well, if this "add this interest" like what i want, i will definetelly add it on my interest. but something i want to know, by having lots of interest will be good or not?

I don't know if that would work or not. I have noticed it offering me things that are already in my interests. However, it's worth a try. As for how many diffrent one there are, I am starting to think the number goes in the hundreds because they are created by the members of Mylot. I can create on for "cats with colds" if I want to. :-0

thanks for posting this question. i was wondering how to avoid this as well, and thanks to your post, people are giving those answers. i thought of just hitting yes, but didnt want to add a bunch of interests that werent really interesting to me. i see now what you mean though. thanks

Lol, I don't know but what I do find amusing is if I comment on a MOVIE (interest) and mention an ACTOR(interest), who knows how big your list will be by the end of the week. I usually just say no thanks, just because I commented on a particular movie, it doesn't mean I want to be included in every discussion pretaining to that movie.

I don't know if there is a full list or not. I always hit add this interest as I figure I must clearly be interested in it if I'm answering a discussion there, lol. But it would be nice if there was a full list because then I could check them all out and save myself some time when I'm answering these posts, hehe.

It is happening to me also,and happens to every one who posts some interesting points. The content must attract mylot,then only the adding to list or nothanks would appear.When it appears you have posted somethig unique thing.The list of interest are never ending and keeps on growing longer. It is difficult to find at onestrech....

Ya its usually , not only you everyone having same problem .It happends everytime you respond to a discussion concerning that topic even if you dont want to participate !

Its sth like the subforum, but not so functionable. Dont like it that much.

Whenever a person writes something in ,his any of the interests category ,if its unique it gets added as a interest ,and gets a home page for that interest,so that way no can can really tell how many interests are there ,except the admins of mylot. i feel we shud accept so that next time any thing in that topic is discussed we can notice it and reply. I usually add it to my interest if i like the topic. sometimes i hit 'no thanks'. All depends on the subject matter.

You know, you should just join the interests that you're actually INTERESTED in, no matter whether it's going to keep coming up or not -- by adding interest you don't actually care about, you risk missing out on discussions you really want to take part in! I don't think that there IS a list of all the interests, but there must be over a million by now -- if every member added about a hundred, we'd be over that, I think...

just dont add it...simply say that no thanks........there is no other way... cya
