i have been seeing alot on tv about it and how it is not right i was just wandering what everyone thinks about it i mean i think that it is good in some ways like your child can learn alot and not gfail but then in alot of ways i do not think it is fair especially for the other kids that are faster or pays attention for what ever reason sometimes i think certain children need to spend 2 years in more than 1 grade and all.

I don't know a whole lot about it, but my husband is a teacher and he refers to it as the "every child left behind act", so I guess he doesn't agree with it. I agree that some kids need to spend more than a year in a grade, but the stigma attached to "flunking" can be devestating. I don't know what the answer is.

My personal opinion is that if a child is not able to complete a course and needs to repeat it he or she should repeat it. Its not a punishment, its more of a learning expeirience. After school programs for extra credit will help the student stay with his or her class, so there are other options out there.
