Yes, I agree also. I was just replying to them for responding back to me. At the end of me replying back to them, I would say "thank you". but if you read the guidelines for mylot in the do's and dont's, it states to not say thank you in the dont do's. So, it is a bit confusing to me.

I respond to ALL comemnts on my discussions. and I also rate them all with +, that is a thank you as well. I also always give out a best response to the person who has given the best reply and for this the person will earn a little more!

I am trying to respond to all comments on my discussions also. I do rate them all with a + too. I want to help people and hope for the same in return as I do try my best to offer my best statements, fellings, values, and opinions. I do go back through my responses also and rate them for the best response. If we all rated each other, and chose the best responses, that would be great.

Why can't you say? Also why do you spend so much time for that?

Someone told me that in the guidelines it states you cannot say thank you. I did look in the guidelines in the do's and dont's and it does mention thank you in there. But when people answer my posts or discussions, I reply back to them and at the end of my reply, I tell them Thank you.

If you go to the Mylot guide lines http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx They have listed as a Dont.. Thank everyone that responds or comments on your discussion. This will not increase your earnings.

i think myLot didn't say that giving a 'thank you' comment is not allowed, but you will earn nothing by giving such those comments. But I think, as a respect to those joining the discussion, we should appreciate it. It's OK to say 'thank you' but at least to make your comment worthy, give some comment about the post.

though it has been given in the donts of mylot guidelines yet i think it has been stated just to inform us that it wont be taken into consideration for earning.it can be taken as "dont comment on your discussion with just thanxs ..go and comment few words about the reply".The only way the responder can able to know that it has been read is the comments from the starter.so if there is no comments from the part of starter then he can leave thanxs.

I read that in the rules, no thank you is to be done. Not a clue why. I do it.

I have come across a ost saying that responding to the discussion with a simple thanks is not enough. I did not like the post though. I dont know why a thanks shouldnt be used. Afterall if you agree with the response and you dont have much to comment about it, i think a thanks will do. It also indicates that you have read the persons reply and appreciate that he has responded. I dont care about what others say i try to respond by saying thanks to some of my discussions.

I try hard to thank everyone who has contributed to the discussion; don't always manage to. I won't even bother with a reply to the ones who reply with, 'thanks', or something not related...Not worth my time.

I always try to say Thank You, I don't know that it pays me, when I say Thank You is usually when I rate. Its always nice to show our manners, and to let people know that we are reading there comments. Good Luck!

Why not..saying thank you is the way how you appreciate for someone who did something good to you..You are most welcome to say thank you..Even more, people will be more happy to hear that too.

If your post is ONLY to say thank you, then you are breaking the guidelines. posts are supposed to enrich the discussion. If you have something ELSE to say to add to the discussion, or to respond to the discussion, feel free to add THANK YOU to the end. Mylot wants to discourage short posts that don't add to the content of the site.

I try to respond to everyone and I always say thankyou. It's the least we can do if they have taken the time to respond to your discussions. It's just common courtesy anyway, and costs nothing, but it's nice to hear it. Go for it stephcjh - you are doing nothing wrong, only good.

Yes it is allowed, and very polite. But, try to start a discussion as well if possible.

Not that it's not allowed. I believe the main reason why mylot discourages thanking everyone is because you don't earn at all for that. So, I guess the "thank you" included in the body would be sufficien. However, as an act of appreciation you can always comment back to those who respond to your posts. I see there's a lot of things we have yet to learn, don't we? Best regards.

Well I guess they are saying don't do it and expect to get paid for it? I would think it's OK to do it as a pure courtesy? I don't know, though, that guideline is not clear. I try to respond to people who respond to me, and I try and further the discussion, but sometimes there just isn't anything else to be said.

Yes you can post more than once in a discusion if it's really good but no more posts will go on your post count if you had already posted there once.
