Is it safe to purchase items from Craigslist.com?

I have made a few purchases and they seems to work out ok. The only thing sometimes I feel uncomfortable because I do not know it the person selling something could be a set up to get someone to their home or a certain place. Has anyone had a situation they would like to share?

I actually had a friend who was moving to another state. They found an apartment on craigslist. I thought it was a little weird that they were going to move some where that they have never seen before but hey they are happy with it. i never bought anything from it tho...

The little weird is what I am worried about! It seems like a nice forum to post information, but sometimes there is a bad apple in the crowd. Thanks for you reponse
