I grew up as the only white kid on my block. I don't have a problem with mixed groups or diffrent races. We are all the same and we are all diffrent. I have never had a problem with it. I did have a teacher that did not like me because my best freind was a black boy. She told me, I should hang with children of my own color!!! Can you beleive that? Of course that was in the 70's also. I told her I was, me and him were both black as far as I was concerned. She didn't like that at all, LOL.

I grew up in Washington state and California on military bases, so I grew up with a wide variety of ethnic backrounds. My parents didn't raise us to see the difference in peoples skin, so we never noticed. Living in the South, it is thrown in your face every day, but I chose to ignore it. People are people and that's it.

I myself, love all people. I do not see their colors or religion.
On the other hand, I am a minority. I was raise in an area with ignorant people that were very mean to me. I was beat up, name called, and shunned.

Stiving to understand. The diffences would make for a fun connection. We are all different even within our own groups. We all deserve respect and the offer of friendship. Thank goodness no one is exactly like me. Lots of stuff could get done, however, again the differences would not be there for long lasting learning. We are all worthy of friendship no matter where we are fron. I grew up in a mostly white, middle class neighborhood, then out in the country where we were far apart. Went to school when it became mixed, we children didn't have many problems. My interactions have not been bad!

I don't feel anyone is different then myself . I believe we are all the same and don't pay attention to things like that . Where I was growning up both my mother and my father were prejudiced about different things yet somehow my sister and I grew up believing they were wrong . I always tell my kids that it is not what we look like it is who we are inside that counts and it doesn't matter where you came from or anything . If it is a good person they are good no matter who they are and for any reason .
