if i were a captain then i will always tell him to keep himself fit because he is at the door steps to score 50th century just 10 require which is not a big target for him.

I dont know how it can be done.This player is already highly motivated.You need not motivate him anymore.
As a captain what you can do is that even if sachin performs a little bad ensure that team wins.Thereby you can relieve the great man.

As a captain the first thing I would drop him from the squad.He himself is demotivating others.
