what would you rather perfer - a dog or a cat or something else as a pet?

I love dogs..they r the best friend man can get.......

We have had both cats and dogs over the years, and at the same time too, but on the whole I prefer dogs. They are great company, friendly, intuitive and not at all 'stand offish' as cats can sometimes be. All we have right now is a dog and she is very old (18 years) but when her time comes, there is no way we will replace her with a cat. :)
