Bribe .. is it a sin?

it's a sin ... it's written on exodus 23 : 8 clearly. I live in indonesia, and im not bribing any legal officer, i go to the court alone by myself, also i got my driving license without any bribe. It's just an excuse to say that we can't do anything without bribing in indonesia, well, it takes more time and effort not to bribe and do everything as the way it supposed to be (legally) but i know that's the right things to do, and i stand firm on my principles, not following the others that bribe.

yes bribe is definitely a sin but sometimes in fighting for truth we too give bribes! its situational.

It might be a sin, it might not. According to the situation. If you are in Australia, it is obviously wrong if you bribe and you can even end up in jail. But, to get a driver license in Indonesia, if you dont bribe, how long would it take and it even more expensive at the end cause sometimes they just fail us. Whether it is a sin or not in Indoensia, I cannot answer for sure. But, what I can say is that God look at our heart.

Of course it's a sin, if it doesn't won't against the law. If you accept the bribe you'll becoming Judas. But if you bribing you're the one who catch and cross Jesus. That's what's written in Bible, isn't it?

you can make a thousand of excuses but if you use that time to make your mind determined on the think that you are not making any excuse in your life then it benificial for your life

bribe cannot be exactly called as sin,cause sometimes bribing helps us get outta tough situations.here in india the traffic cops can be so easily bribed that people tend to jump red lights,overspeed etc... even though its totaly against the law but still who follows the law?no1 i guess?wat bout u?

It's definitely a sin.And both parties involved in it are equally guilty.So we should try to stop this evil practice and make our society a better place to live in.
