How do you understand this?
"The kingdom of the heavens is like
treasure having been hidden in the field, which a man who has found hid, and from the joy of him he leads away and sells all things whatsoever he has and buys that filed" (Matthew 13:44).

The kingdom of heaven is very precious and does not equal all our possessions on earth. If necessary, we should surrender all our earthly wealth in lieu of the kingdom of heaven. No material things can buy the heavenly realm.

The is a parable told by Jesus. The valueable items he talks about is the spiritual treasure: heavenly joy, the peace and sweetness of loving relationship with others. These are also deeply buried in the remote area of our heart. We don't know they are there and we don't possess any of them unless we find them. So we, the followers of Jesus, should be like the fellow, who found the treasure and be happy, and be willing to give what we have in exchange for the treasure. Because nothing in our existing world can be as precious as the ones we found in our heart.

Eternal life is the most important really and we should do everything, even if we sell all our properties on earth provided we could enter the kingdom of the heavens.

First, I want to note the word comparison. The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure...If you find a treasure that you think is worth than anything you currently have then for sure you would forsake or sell all of them if that is what it takes to take possession of your new-found treasure.
