I am really glad to say I haven't received any written 'nasty' letters .. although I have been the victim of a few 'whispering campaigns' .. I would think it must be awful to actually get something in writing .. I think I would want to burn the letter .. hmm or would I keep it to give to the police .. what a dilemma .. it would be embarrassing to have to show someone else what had been written .. and it would be scary too ... what a lot of emotions must go through someones mind if they get nasty letters ..

Thankfully I've never had hate mail but my Sil's ex (and her) used our address to apply for loans. We called the company and told them the situation then called them and gave them a right earful

I have not in my adult life received hate mail. I did once or twice as a teenager in middle school and high school. I was upset and offended by it then - but now I look back and just realize how utterly unimportant the incidence was in the entire span of my life. A lot of people do stupid stuff growing up and it's sooooo dramatic at the time but when you grow up you realize high school doesn't really matter. If I received hate mail now I'd probably wonder why - if it was someone I knew I'd try to address the situation. If it was just a prank I'd throw it away. If it was threatening or weird in some way I would make a report & give the letter to the police.

No thank goodness I havent had any hate mail,
The nastiest thing which i recieve are bills!
I used to get a lot of those chain mail letters but that seemed to have stopped now. A few Years ago I would get a couple of those a month which went straight into the bin!

Well I've never received "hate mail" as such, but I was "stalked" on the Internet by an obsesional young man for a couple of years, after meeting him on another Forum I belong too. When I told him I wasn't interestied in him, he sarted bombarding me with "hate mail" in the shape of PMs and BadReps on that site, and threatened me. Eventually he was banned:-)) I also received a barage of nuisance phone calls about 15 years ago, and had to go to the Police to report them. They made me feel worse than the Internet stalker, because they only happened when my partner was away on business, so I knew they came from someone local who could track my movements.

I got a hateful letter from a former co-worker last year. She threatened me, she said some really evil things, and she warned me no one would believe she sent it.
Well, I quit later because I reported the letter and the boss did nothing. My co-workers were outraged for me, but honestly, I had to lift some heavy things, and it hurt my back terribly. So she did me a favor, although it was very childish for her to do that in that particular manner.

Thankfully I've never received nasty letters through the post before, but I've had my fair share of hate mail through my email address and comments on my website. Mostly from people who disagreed with what I've said somewhere and don't believe that everyone is allowed to have a difference of opinion.
I'm sure if I ever got mail like that through the post, my mom would freak out and make us move. Shes that paranoid about things on the internet and is convinced that I'm going to get myself killed.
