I bet you never knew just how useful text messaging could be. There is a woman in the news who persuaded a thief to return her belongings just by sending him text messages on the phone that he stole from her!
Apparently, she told him that he could keep her money, that she understood if he was going throgh a hard time, but to please return her other things. And amazingly, this message touched the thief's heart so much that he returned her entire bag, even the money, and left her a note as well! Saying that he knew he had made a mistake and would correct the error of his ways. Wow! ^_^
So, what do you think of this story? Isn't it amazing? Who do you usually send text messages to? Have you ever had a phone stolen and found a creative way to get it back? Feel free to answer any or all of my questions, loL! ^_^

You know, that is a pretty cool story!!!
I can't imagine a theif bringing a person's belongings back because of 21 text messages! If anything, I would think that the theif would have just turned the phone off!!!
The story said that she was trying to persuade him instead of going to the police. Wow! I can't believe it worked! I think she got very lucky! I can't help but wonder if she did a Hoodoo or Voodoo thing though. ha ha Because I just can't see a theif bringing everything back and writing an apology note.
But hey, stranger things have happened!
And I am glad that she got her happy ending!

LOL about the voodoo issue! That might well be the case! ^_~ I know! It does seem like it would've been easy for him to just turn off the phone and ignore it. Or he could have just given the phone back, or left it somewhere, and kept the rest. But he truly did feel regretful. I thought that was so sweet! ^_^

How cool it that! Wish I had that luck. Once something of mine is gone, gone is how it stays. I get those crooks with no guilt at all.

I agree, it seems like text messaging is becoming the way of the future, lol! I mean, if someone can persuade a theif to give back their belongings just with a few text messages, what next? Maybe we can solve world peace the aid of with text messages! ^_~ I wish! ^_^

Heya, this is a good story, I also have a similar one - I left me phone in the toilets of a shopping centre once and when i realised id lost it i rang the number and got someone on the other end, I managed to convince them that i was hard-up and to please not take the phone off me, they told me a location that they would leave it at hidden and i went to get it (accompanied by a few friends of course). It was good all round because stolen phones are really not that useful here in Australia unless you have the right connections (hardcore criminals) because they are so easy to trace and get caught using but of course it meant money down the drain for me to get a new handset.

It is really a touching story. I appreciate the woman for her tenacity and the thief for his action. I am sure he is not a proffessional thief.

That is strange, that he returned everything. Why would he steal it in the first place? Maybe he thought, "I won't get her off my case unless I return her stuff"lol. He could have just turned off the phone. It is such a pain to lose your ID's and credit card's, but when they are stolen you have a bigger chance of them using your card's or use your identity to get new one's and you won't know for a few month's. Good for her.

Well the thieves do have a heart too. In my city there was a news a few months ago that a thief stole a safe from somebody and later found a xd card which had pictures of a guy molesting a 3 years old. He turned the pictures to the police the molester got cought and a few months later the thief was cought in some other case and he told police that he sent the pictures to them. He became a hero immediately but he still got jail for the theft he did.

my motherinlaw lost her phone and when she rang her number someone answered but hung up on her. she rang and left a merssage that her phone number was linked to the local police station and they could trace anyone with the phone. the phone was handed in within the hour .
