Spoiled Cat...won't drink from a bowl

My cat drives me crazy. I love her, but she seriously drives me crazy. lol I have to leave the water dripping in the bathtub 24/7. It is the only thing she will drink water from. I have never seen her drink from the actual water bowl I provide for her. If I don't turn the water on, she just won't drink anything all day. Any tips for breaking her from this annoying habit?

Your cat knows what she's doing. Running water tends to be fresher, being better oxygenated, and since she knows she's got an alternative, that's what's happening. Sitting water also gets dusty. In some parts of the house, particularly so. It picks up flakes of skin from people, and the various microscopic oddities that live in everyone's home, and water takes up things like cleaning fluid fumes in the air, etc. If you really want to go overboard, a little drinking fountain would be cute, although impossible to explain... I'd suggest trying a few different methods of giving her water, see if she likes them. May be as simple as just a non-plastic bowl.

My mom's cat is like this. She has to either leave the tap running a bit in the sink or what she has taken to doing is setting a small paper plate (styrofoam) with water on it right by the sink. That the cat will drink from but he won't drink from it if its on the floor. I know cats can be very strange.

My cat is the same way! Except she only drinks from the toilet. Because of her I keep it super clean because I don't know if she'd ever drink. lol. Every now and then I see her drinking from the sink or tub. I fill up her bowl, but usually I just see her playing in it and other than that, it kinda sits in there for a while then evaporates. Even if I change the water often. I thought she was crazy, but maybe it isn't so uncommon after all.
