someone told me that my sister's boyfriend was dating another girl. i felt i should let her know, and after i did she confronted him with the story. altough he denied it. it caused a terrible argument and they almost broke up. now it turns out that the rumor wasn't true, and my sister has stopped speaking to me. i don't know what to do, i felt blame...

If you were honestly only looking out for your sister when you told her that , you can easily convince her that you had nothing to gain , you only told her because you THOUGHT the rumour was true , that is only human . Im sure shes just angry now , once thispasses she will realize you meant no harm and she will no longer be angry at you .
