Has anyone of you here practiced or is presently doing home-schooling on their kids? I am a new mother and I am battling the urge to keep my baby safe by just home-schooling him. Are there any resources out there that would help me to accomplish this? Any recommended authors or books that I need to know to effective teach my kid by myself? Please help.

I've also thought of home schooling instead of going in the normal school. But it will just make him feel different from others. He will get confuse. He needs to be introduce to the real world, with real school atmosphere, environment and with other kids in the place. Just keep an eye on him and guide him. Communicate well with your child.

What I have learned through watching some others that grew up being protected from everything is that they just didn't turn out right. They had to go to a private school there whole like and then when they got out they didn't know how to act in the real world. I think they need to be able to interact and have real experiences. It is also good for young kids to interact with others there age, the earlier the better. So if you do home-school, I would definitley have some play groups going. If you want your children and family to be safer, would you be interested in starting with the products you use in your home? From cleaners and laundry detergent to toothpaste or bath soap. We have 350+ wellness products and can help you work from home. But we don't have to do sales, just refer others to this great company to shop or work from home.

Well Hoem school is not bad at all especially if your saving your money for schooling. But there are problems that your child may encounter when the time comes for him to attend regular schooling. So I guess letting your child attend school is much more effective and it would improve his social skills as well. I guess the best that you could do is be a good tutor to your kids.

don't you think that you're being too over-protective with your child... you can never really "protect" them all your life... although i understand what you feel since i'm a mom too... our kids need to grow and be independent too... and i know you wouldn't want your kid to be indiferrent to others, would you?
