What is with the clapping. The people clap at every 5 words that come out of Bush's mouth! Like he's a freaking genous! I don't get it.

That's how it works. Regardless of who's delivering it, everyone in attendence is supposed to be very respectful and clap a lot. Its pretty annoying really, just sit down and let him finish. The SOTU is on every channel and pausing every 10 seconds makes it much much longer.

well,that part of the program. His allies does not like to make him look a fool if no one's going to support his developments & plans. It really sound ridiculous & exaggerating. It's what politics is...all drama.
