My aquarium loses water so quickly. It seems I have to add water every two days. Is there a reason for this? The aquarium doesn't leak. We don't have a lid for it either. It's one of those cool five sided tanks and I can't seem to find a lid for it anywhere.

Very likely it is evaporating, you might want to try having a piece of glass or plexiglass cut to fit.
