Who's going to do the work the illegal aliens do if Bush gets his way?

It's unfortunate but that's the case. Many companies and farmers hire these people because they are cheap labor.

Who cares? I don't mean that to sound rude, but Illegal Immigrants are just that ILLEGAL. Just because they work cheaply doesn't mean we should turn our heads. Stop raising the minimum wage and we won't have to be dependent on thier cheap labor.

The only problem with that attitude is, as we discussed about leaving children behind. Who do you think is going to do that work? Because our children are being let down and left behind by the system they're going to be the one's. Not everyone can afford a private education where the highest payed teachers are. Most are in the system that is completely overwhelmed and grossly under payed. His talk about temporary work visas is just that, talk. You have to remember he is part of the elitists who wish to broaden the gap between the classes. They don't want to share a piece of the American dream.

People have a chance when they are given the opportunity to succeed. I'm with you with raising the minimum wage to much more than what they just passed. Unfortunately, a $15 an hr. minimum wage won't be seen until at least the year 2120. However, a loaf of bread will probably be $19.99 by then.

Illegal or not, I believe everyond has a chance. WE NEED to RAISE the minimum wage. If you take the standards of living that are considered NON POVERTY and compare it to the current minimum wage, it's not enough to get buy. THE MINIMUM WAGE NEEDS to be at around $15 to SURVIVE in a way that the current middle class survives.

Well, I'd LIKE to think that the poor in the United States will get those jobs, but unfortunately, I REALLY believe they'll just be shipped overseas so that the economy can benefit from exploiting others, again.

Some of those jobs will go overseas. However, the bulk of the jobs are in the fields across the country and at construction sites. This as you said and I agree, will hurt our economy any way you look at it. ‹(°¿°)›

The desperate Americans who are now willing to work for less than minimum wage will. There are thousands upon thousands of people here who would gladly take cheap paying jobs, just to be able to feed their families. The unemployment rate is insane right now.

Absolutely! That flies in the face of what that idiot just said on tv about the unemployment rate being low. It's what's called political double speak. Like you said about the minimum wage, because it is so low and the cost of living is constantly rising, people either with no skills or the youth who simply hasn't acquired any yet will do anything it takes to get by. Believe it or not. That's what he wants. That would be increasing the gap between the classes in the land of the free. ‹(°¿°)›

That is the only reason that they are hired.....Because the less an employer pays a person the more profit they make...I'm sick of them saying American won't do these jobs..That's cause the wages are so low they can't afford to take them.........When the fed's busted Swit and Tyson they had the job filled in a few days cause they raised the wages....Why should we have to hold down two or three jobs just to make end meet....

Absolutely. It's not that we don't want the jobs it's that we don't want them at the rate companies are willing to pay. It's all about greed. That is why many undesirable positions are going across seas as well. Because those jobs used to be filled primarily by temp staffs that pay nothing. You take those jobs somewhere in which that nothing here is something there and you have a perfect match. Unfortunately, our economy suffers because the money being made by those in another country isn't being spent here. All in the name of profit.
