I think 24 or 25 is a perfectly great age to have a first child. I was only 22 when I had my first. I think 22 is a bit young. If you wait much passed 25 though you might get too set in your ways and selfish and also even if you cannot imagine it you should start early enough so that if you absolutely love, love, LOVE having babies and want a big family that you will have time to have many more children after that first one.
I have five children and our family is finally complete. It's been a wonderful journey adding children to our family over the last 14 years. Each of our children is a unique and precious gift!
Best wishes to you!!!

That is a life altering decision and it is yours to make. You know if you are ready to have children or not. You can't agree to have a child just because your husband wants them. Children are a big commitment and you have to be ready to take that on. You have little peoples personalities that you will be helping form. If you have in the back of your mind that you weren't really ready for this you leave the chance for resentments building. Step back, take stock, sit down and talk in depth with your husband what your reasons are for not wanting to start a family at this point. Making sure he understands that you want a family but you are not ready for it at this point. There is no given age that designates that it is time for a women to get pregnant. It is up to the women to look at and decide.
