Family reunions

We are now planning our family reunion on my dads side for this year. We have it every year in May but since there are so many of us we have to start early to find a place that we can all go to. Some have travel homes and some of us have to rent cabins. It starts on a Thursday and we leave on Sundays but in between we have the most fun! We have done all sorts of things on our yearly reunions from horseback riding, to train riding, to game playing and just staying up late and catching up with the people that we only get to see once a year. The youngest can be just a few months old to the oldest who is now 83. I really love the closeness of our family. For years my dad was in the service and we never got to see many of these relatives so I am thankful for the reunions now to make up for lost time. We have even discussed a cruise but we are still trying to convince the older ones to do this. I have a few cousins that will win them over so maybe next year we will all take that cruise!

That's awesome, good for you. We don't really have any reunions in my family. I wish we did. My aunt and uncle in Maine had a somewhat reunion party with my fathers side of the family. My mother and I went. They were moving to Texas. My friends family has a big reunion at the lake every year. Good luck, a cruise sounds fun..lol

I would love to go to Maine. My parents have gone there twice with their RV. They usually go up the coast and stop all along the way. They love Maine and keep promising they are going to go again. I told them if they went again I was going with them. We hope the cruise will pan out eventually. I think once they went they would enjoy it. Some are afraid to be on the ocean or afraid they will get sea sick but we told them the ships are so big they won't even feel like they are on a ship! Have you gotten your new baby yet?

We are very close. Thanks we will do our best to make it fun. We are keeping our fingers crossed for the cruise. If the older ones don't want to go we won't either we stick together as a family for this occasion.

That is great. Don't you just love it. We haven't been doing ours quite that long, only about the last 6 years.
