Does anyone use Sherry wine when cooking?

I have used it a couple times. I usually pour half a bottle into a medium pan, add some teryaki sauce and simmer chicken in it for about a half hour. I do let the wine boil for about 5 minutes before adding the additional stuff though. Sometimes I add some chopped onions in the mix, but only when my husband won't be eating it. He hates onions.
I have shared how I cook with sherry wine. How do you cook with it, if you do. I am interested in getting some new uses for it.

Yellow cake is the only kind of regular cake I will eat. How much do you think you actually put in it. Do you use it in place of the water or some of the water. It sounds like it would be a good idea. Please let me know.

I add sherry into melted butter with bread crumbs and put it on top of potatoes, or fish or chicken.
When I make creamed soups, I will add a little to that also.

That sounds like it would be good to try. My husband and I love potatoes, so as soon as I get some bread crumbs I will try it. I would also love to get some creamed soup recipes from you. I am not much of a soup maker.

I have used it with steak. My Mom used to cook it with steak and mushrooms. It is very yummy. I do not eat mushrooms but the gravy taste great on the steak. I am like your husband I hate mushrooms to but I will cook with them I just do not bite into them.
