Which is a better choice? An Assembled PC or a branded Computer !

Recently i thought of buying a new PC. There were two options. I could ve bought a branded PC (which was costing a 150% of an assembled one) or an assembled PC. I favoured assembled as it was cheap and vendor was familiar to me (i was very confident about the good service). It worked fine for first few months and after that it fan started making sound. I try to correct the problem and asked my local vendor also to come look into the issue but all in vain. Now i realised what a big mistake i made. Since fan is making sound i cant enjoy light music also. Now i have learnt a lesson that i buy only branded items. Do you guys also have similar kind of experience for assembled products? Which one u r prefferring to buy?
