you could try sony vegas dvd package... its more on basics and its easier to learn. adobe products needs a lot of work, links, whether you want to get the best quality.

I'm still looking for the best one for making DVD's.
Adobe Premiere is ok for presentations but not so good for DVD's.
Nero is fairly simple.
Pinnacle I just could not get on with.
Windows is ok for uploading clips.
I'l try a few of the ones above, thanks.

wow , so many choices, I never there that many video editing software, thanks everybody, I am going through one by one trying to find out more about your suggestions, thanks alot for your responds.

As Far as i Know Adobe Premiere is used for Beginners.I use Combustion it is better than Premiere as it has more video editing Facilities.

for vcd i would go for vcd cutter n super decoder...
n for compression it none other than divix.....
