A question for men.

I was wondering why men, now I will say not all men do this, like to take advantage of a woman that loves them. The father of my children recently made me believe that we were together, and that we were going to move away together. Well when I decided that I didn't want to move to where he had decided we were going to move he said that he understood my reasons and that he would come back. Well, now that he is back he is treating me like crap even though I sent him the money to get back. Plus I was sending money to help him with little things while he was there. Plus before he left I was the one paying all his bills. He is now spending most of his time with the mother of his other child. Why do men do this kind of stuff? Why don't they just tell you they don't want to be with you instead of stringing you along and hurting you even worse? Like I said I know that not all men are like that, and I know that there are some women that do this kind of thing to. I just don't understand it and if someone could explain it to me I would appreciate it.
