Religion for me is my life. Everything I do I try to do it to give glory to God and live a good, Christian life.
I think most religions that I understand to teach peace and have a common view of humanity, but have different views on God.

I totally agree with you. I also thing that perhaps religions share a common view on humanity (which in my opinion is the idea that we must be good and kind to one another and try to live in peace and stick up for those who can't stick up for themselves. Just my opinion though). But we do indeed have different views on God. Even within Christianity, where people believe Jesus was the son of God, there is a lot of debate about the nature of Jesus (was he really God? or was he just a man who was beloved by God)- which is a very central idea to the religion. And even the nature of God is not agreed on (is he really a kind and merciful God or is he a vengeful God who smites people over the smallest offenses). But I think that religion is very important. At least to me it is. I need to believe that there is something bigger than myself, that I serve a loving and just God by loving my neighbors and believing in Him. I can't exactly explain why this is, or why I find that this idea is so comforting. I just do. I like the idea that I get to live forever with God and Jesus after this life, in a wonderful place where there is no more pain and hurting. Like I said, I can't explain it, but it is very important to me. I am nothing without my faith.

As far as Jesus goes he was God in human form. The Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Kinda like an egg there is three parts: shell, white and yolk, but it's all one thing.
There is that idea of being kind to one another: do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
I believe there has to be something bigger than myself, and like you said the idea of God loving me and protecting me is comforting and I love it. It's who I am, it's my life. And I think thats how people of other faiths are as well...It's who they are and no one should judge each other based on our faiths.
