World is fcaing severe shortage of crude oil as well know and alternative source may come out and power problem is also increasing because of over population and each day power demand is increasing and would you think that there might come any permanent solution for all these problems?

YES, there will be a solution and I bet everything I have, it will happen in our lifetimes,i.e in less than 30 years. There are so many alternative energy sources, clean energy sources that will come up in the near future. 1. Bio fuels - Ethanol produced from sugarcane, diesel produced from oils like Jatropha (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jatropha). Brazil runs most of it cars on Ethanol!(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethanol_fuel_in_Brazil) 2. Wind power - Farms of windmills can be setup on the sea to produce a huge amount of wind power (some US firms are already doing it). 3. Solar power - Malasia is doing a unique experiment, all houses and large buildings that can generate solar power with solar panels will be connected to the national grid, there by reducing the cost of solar energy to an average household (http://www.peopleandplanet.net/doc.php?id=2550)(you need not invest on a large battery to store power and invest on an inverter to reuse the stored battery power) 4. Tidal/wave power - waves and the daily tide in the sea can be used to produce power (http://inventors.about.com/library/inventors/bitidalplants.htm). 5. Fusion - Controlled fusion reactors may come into picture anytime. The fuel these reactors will use is Hydrogen, one of the most abundant elements on earth. 6. Hydrogen fuelcell - It is a simple engine/machine that will burn hydrogen to run an automobile or produce power for a small establishment like a home. Iceland runs most of its cars on Hydrogen Fuel cells (www.worldpress.org/Europe/436.cfm). 7. Fission - fission reactor will become more efficient and less and less polluting. When we have so many options (and many more that I don't know of) why aren't they being used? Right now all or most of these options cost slightly or significantly more than a petroleum/ coal based solution. The cost difference will erode, environmental awareness will prevail and we will shed oil for the greener forms of energy. Mark my words we will see this change in our life times max 30 years.

Yes, you have listed out too many possibilities and all are exiting isn't it? in these listings, wind power, solar power, hydrogen fuel will be introduced soon enough and might become very famous for sure and everything depends on the cost as it might become monopoly in the begining and cost factor might be very high in thius case.... Anyway's, thanks for responding

Honestly, I think some solutions are here now, but big business is preventing them from being available. I had seen a documentary a while back how this car that run off water, was bought by a car manufacturer, sorry cannot remember which one. They locked up the car and never attempted to have it manufactured. Why produce something that will prevent the use of gas? It's the same way Microsoft keeps down its competitors, buying them out and toss the product in a closet somewhere and keep supply and demand for their products at a high.

Is it? ifthat is the case, then one has to feel happy that crude oil is getting empty as you said, alternate soultion will be more advantagious and can you elaborate in what way's it is adavantagious.., so that everybody will come to know the advantages in these? Anyway's, thanks for responding

now a days people are really facing the great difficult of rise in the crudeoil prices due to thre scarcity of it.......................................but it is fir sure that the crude oil will be ended with in few years....................so we should be aware of that and be prepared for it from the present day itself........................................for this the primary basic step is to think about the alternative fuel and the abundantly availability of that fuel and also the side effects on the nature..............................and also amny characters of that fuel are to be concerned before comming to a cocclusion....................and after all this things we can say that the hydrogen is the next alternative fuel that is best suited for all the above mentioned conditions....................................................and many companies are now manufacturing he cars and many other vehicles that run on the hydrogen as a fuel................

Yes, hydrogen is the most talked about after crude and one got to see what side effects does hydrogen have in vehicles which are already existing because once hydrogen is introduced even vehicle engines wil be designed particulary for hydrofen engines and theer might be problems in adjusting to hudrogen for older vaehicles that are already running in petrol, diesel etc..isn't it?
