Have you ever been good friends with your ex?

i wish we were. i'm thinking about extending a hand. or at least i've tired but had forgot what i've done. we usually find it awkward to extend our friendship because we thought that it's inferior to "love"... or maybe we thought that since we haven't lasted as boyfriend/girlfriend... why save a room for friendship? i want to. but it would only complicate the situation especially if you haven't moved along. if you still feel for that person who had already moved along, it would truly hurt. but that's the mystery i've been trying to decipher for so long.

I still have a relatively good relationship with my ex and we dont even have children together, but we do work together, so a professional relationship has to be maintained. I have to say I could take the friendship we have or leave it, but he is determined to hold onto it. I think it is because he cheated on me, and in his heart me being friends with him makes it ok. I generally dont make efforts to talk to him, but I am cordial when he talks to me. I figure he knows he messed up and now I am remarried with a beautiful baby, so he created his own misery, and to be honest I almost feel sorry for him. But then I also know that when someone is your ex, they tend to be an ex for a reason, so treading lightly is always a good idea
