Solution:
Let a = no of parrots
b = no of pigeons
s = no of sparrow
Given:
eq1. 100 = 5a+b/20+s ,Rs
eq2. 100 = a+b+s ,no of animals
100-s = 5a+b/20 = a+b
20(5a)+b = 20(a+b)
100a+b = 20a+20b
80a = 19b
* b = 80a/19
Substitute it to eq2.
100 = a+b+s
100 = a+(80a/19)+s
100 = (19a+80a)/19+s
100 = 99a/19+s
assume a = 19 since we need whole animal {and can simply cancel out}
* a = 19 parrots
100 = 99(19)/19+s
100 = 99+s
* s = 1 sparrow
Substitute to eq2.
100 = a+b+s
100 = 19+b+1
100 = 20+b
* b = 80 pigeons
