who is your sports hero of 2006???

it would have to be manny pacquiao (boxing) for me. i don't like him personally but it is no doubt that his great achievements in boxing has brought our country proud. it is something we needed especially in this time when there are so many problems here. he is now an inspiration to alot of Filipinos especially the children. they look up to him and would someday want to be like him. i'd also like to share, for those who haven't been in the Philippines during his fights, that whenever he has a fight, tickets in cinemas that have live via satelite feeds of the fight are always sold out days before. some restos (national sports grill, chili's) also set up TVs and are always jampacked. city halls, sports centers, and even churches set up wide screens to accomodate those who want to watch live telecasts. and there is absolutely no traffic on the streets because everyone is at home wathcing the slightly delayed telecast on the local network. it really amazes me!
