What is the number indicated in brackets which is in the username in myLot?

What is the number that indicated which comes along with the user name. eg:-maheshg88 (21) Here what is 21? it refers what? When i respond to discussions, creating discussions or sometimes when i get responses to my discussion i think the number is increasing. But i don't know what is the number? If know about this please help me to find it.
