Expect Employers ask you this! I was back home sleeping when my mom called me at 9am from work. I turned on the tv and saw terrible images, couldn't believe it. I started getting ready for work and when I got there all I could see was sadness. This created hate to muslims, but why? Not everyone is a terrorist. How many Americans and Israelis are? Well, anyway, 2 years after that I reverted to Islam. Strange thing for some. Why would someone revert to Islam after 9/11? Clearly it doesn't have to do with violence. There are bad Muslims, bad Christians, bad Jewish. Islam to me is peace.
Now, this is a question that Employers may ask you according to Vicky Oliver, in her book: 301 Smart Answers to tough Interview Questions . My suggestion is, either if you are Christian,Catholic, Jewish or other, do not talk about religion.
So what about you?

I live in Pakistan and that fateful day i was at home sleeping, when my next door neighbor came knocking on my door and told me to immediatly turn on my TV, all i witnessed was pure destruction, loss of precious human lives and a deep sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach!
I agree with you, a religion cant be held responsible for the deeds of a few, for example Adolf Hitler was a christian but you dont go blaming christianity for what he did! its all up to the individual on how he acts!

I was at home and had just sent my kids off to school. As was my morning routine, I came in from putting them on the bus, made myself a cup of coffee and was just about to turn on the news when the phone rang. On the other end was my husband telling me that a plane had just flown into the WTC. I turned the tv on and proceeded to sit there for the next couple of hours watching in absolute shock and disbelief!

I was in a shock too. I used to work in a five star hotel, and since everyone was in a panick, I was unsure whether to go or not to go there. Well, the hotel received a few threatening calls but of course and thank God, they were all false.

Since I homeschool my kids I was sitting at that time, I had come in from the garden, and we were doing the days lessons. The television was on and then the news began. We watched the plane run into that building over and over again. We could not believe our eyes and did not know what it was til later. It became part of our studies and it seems like so long ago now.
In an interview, I will state that I was at home that day with my children and watched what cruel people can do when they believe in something even though it might be wrong. The people were bad not the religion! I saw history as it happened!

I was on my honeymoon in Las Vegas. The scary thing, was my children were back in MA with a friend. I have never missed them so much!!!!
It was also very wierd to be in Vegas-such a loud and fun place-because it was so silent and so quiet. Eerie!
It was also very frightening, getting on a plane a week later, to fly home.
These things I pray I never have to feel again.

On this day I was in a mental hospital suffering from depression and anxiety and was an outpatient. I was in a session with other patients with our therapist when the news went down. They did not even tell us what happened as all they did was dismiss us and tell us to go home. I guess they did not want the news to upset us while we were there. I do not talk about religion at all, even before that happened.

This is one of the days in my life which i remember as if it was yesterday. I was waiting in for a delivery of frozen food from the town near where i live, it was late so i phoned them up to ask where it was because i was going out later that day, after the food delivery arrived i went to a neighbour with my youngest daughter, because she was staying with the neighbour while i went to buy a birthday present for my husband, this was 1.15 in the afternoon, i went to town to buy the present and then came back to my neighbour to pick up my little girl, we sat down at my neighbours house and had a cup of tea and i heard it all on the radio, I was really upset, for all those ionvolved, and for a friend of mine who i tyhought was there. She was supposed to be in the twin towers at a meeting for the company she works for, but thank God she was not there and she was safe at her home in LA because the meeting had been changed, but i did not find this out until; three weeks later when she called me.

It must have been so frustrating or all of those who had relatives and friends there. I recently watched Nicholas Cage's : "World Trade Center", which portrays the story of 2 cases and their families, and it was worse than living a movie. Only 20 alive-buried survived, and these 2 cases were #19 and #20. I am glad that your friend was not there.

I was just in my first year in college that time. It was late at night here in my country, I was finishing my plates in drawing subject that time and then the next morning I saw the 9-11 bombings on the news. I was shocked it never ocured in my mind that it could possibly happen on a building. Well, in an interview it is advisable not to talk or make any reaction about religion or smoking or non-smoking issues, etc. because they are sensitive issues and expect diferent point of views from people.

You do make a great point, there are bad Christians as there are bad Muslims. I am friends with the most sweetest kindness person I have met in a long time, and yes he Muslim.
Any way I was working in a pre-school with my children when it happened. I was in one class and each of my girls were in another room. A staff member came to the door and said, “we are under attack they have our planes and are attacking us”. That was all I knew. Then I looked out side my window and seen the swat team!!!! The bell sounded and the principal announced for us to take our students to the basement quickly! So I gathered up my class, kept on a smiley face and calm voice and lead them down there. I could see my two girls across from me, but as much as I just wanted to grab them and cry I had to stay with my class and make sure they were happy. When it was all over, I found out about the attack. Then we learned, a dude decided to rob a gas station near by, one hour after 9/11 hit, and was hiding outside in a storage area of our school. The friggin swat team was there for him!
Anyway by the time my day was done, I took my children, ran home and locked my door. Then I turned the TV on, fell to my knees and watched it in horror as it played over and over again. It was awful.

It was early afternoon here in the UK and I was at work. My colleague phoned his girlfriend because she was at home ill and he wanted to check up on her, and she told him she had seen the Towers collapse on TV. To be frank, we didn't think much of it at the time (no TV or radio allowed at work to check), so it wasn't until the evening when I got home and switched on the TV news that I realised how serious it was.

I had just woken up when I flipped my laptop open and saw the headlines on msn. I went to the living room and watched everything unfold with my roomates. In the afternoon I went to work and saw everyone gathered around the televisions all evening.
You said not to talk about religion... and I'm not. I'm talking about terrorism in addressing a point that you made. I know that not all Muslims are bad, that every group has it's fanatics. But, while not all Muslims are terrorists, most terrorists are Muslims. It is politically correct to deny that, but it is fact. I have sympathy for those good Muslims who have experienced negative effects from 9/11, but at the same time I understand why they are scrutinized. It's a sad world we live in today.

I was on my way home from school (I was in the Philippines back then). I was worrying about an exam the next day when I saw my dad was watching TV. At first, I thought it was a bad action movie with poor camera angles and effects but when I saw the CNN logo on the screen I realized that it was actually happening. This was shortly after the 1st plane hit the WTC. I thought that it may just be an accident and that everything would be under control... then the 2nd plane hit... that's the moment I knew that this was no accident. As reports of other attacks came in, I had this growing fear that I might be called to join a military retaliation force against whoever was responsible for the attacks (I was an officer in my school's ROTC program and the Philippines is an ally of the US). this fear still lies deep in my mind till this very day.

My husband and I were both at home watching the news.
We are Messianic Jewish Christians.
We do not believe in man made rules and how to worship God. A traditional religion.
We have a personal walk with Jesus, and live by faith and trust, no rules or regulations.

I was driving my mother's boyfriend to Indianapolis to have the stitches in his face looked at when I heard the news. At first it didn't seem real and I couldn't get to a tv. When I finally did see what was going on (rather than just hearing about it over the radio) I was in shock. How horrible it must of been to be right there in New York. God Bless all those people!
As to religion, I usually will not talk about it at all.

Well, like most of us, I had just got to work and was listening to my usual morning radio show when a news breal busted in telling us what happened. Everyone in the office scatterd to one of the three tv's nearby and watched in disbelief. I remember my boss letting everyone go home around 1pm est. that afternoon. How could anyone focus on their job? I do remember it like it was yesterday, as I am sure every American does.

That day, I happened to wake up late.. Much later than I normally do. I had just enough time to get dressed and drive to school. On the way there, I remember listening to the radio and the newsman talking about the crash at the Pentagon. Then the started talking about the crash at the WTC earlier. I went back home and turned the TV and saw the images

September 11, 2001, I was at home sleeping. I was shocked when I heard the news so I turned on CNN right away. I thought things like this could only happen in movies but I am wrong, it's for real.

I was home. I had sent my oldest to school that day and was chatting with my mom while my two youngest were having their naps when I found out about it. For that entire day (and probably months later) I was absolutely horrified that there are people in the world who would do such a thing. It was a very scary ordeal. I can't imagine how the people in New York managed to make it through the day :(

I LIVE 30 MIN. FROM D.C. IN MARYLAND, TWO OF MY SISTERS WORK IN GOV. JOBS. ONE AT NSA AND THE OTHER AT NAVAL ACAD. THE FIRST THING I DID WAS CALL MY MOM, SHE INFORMED ME MY SISTERS WERE OK AND ON THEIR WAY HOME. I ALSO CALLED MY DAUGHTERS SCHOOL AND WAS TOLD THE SCHOOL WAS ON LOCK DOWN. AND THAT I COULD NOT PICK HER UP YET.
THERE WILL AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN GOOD AND BAD PEOPLE IN EVERY RELIGION,RACE OR BACK GROUND. AT THE END OF THE DAY THERE IS ONLY ONE JUDGE, YOUR GOD, WHAT EVER THAT MAY BE.
GOD BLESS ALL OF THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIFE THAT DAY AND THEIR FAMLIES!
