I think for international ENgland , i do give some credit to JOE COLE , he had been the one performing average for england yea .... Gerrad and lampard might be great at their club but surely not at international level yea

I think the best midfielder of England is still BECKS,but in his absence the choice is definitely STEVE G

Gerrard is better in these categories:1. Power and control with his long range shooting 2. Power and control with his heading 3. Good ball control in dribbling and tackling 4. Accurate passer if the ball most of the time. 5. Creative. I think Gerrard can kick Lampard's butt anytime:)

Without a shadow of a doubt its stevie G, his range of passing, shoting, and general commitment far suppases Lampard. He also has a great versitality and has played every position in midfield, as well as as a second striker, right back and even centre back at one point. I think lampard is largly an over rated player who relies on striking the ball with power from distance, although this works ok in the English prem it falls short at the highestr level.

Both players are very good.But i think gerrard is better.He demonstrated that in his last matches.His shots are amazing and has a great vision of game

It is hard to decide which was the best in midfield. Bosth of them has great skills and great talent. But for me, I think gerrard is better than lampard. See, gerrard's free kick and gerrard's long shot is better than lampard. Lampard just make some goal by sometimes he go forward so he can make a goal. But, gerrard make many goals by his free kick and his long range shot.

I would have to go with Stevie G. I think that they are both very skilled, but Gerrard is very good at finishing goals where Lampard is a little lacking sometimes in my opinion. (On my team, if someone kicks the ball well over the net, we often say they "Lamparded" it... it's a verb now :))

Gerrard!! The best skipper and yet midfielder of England. Can score where ever outside penakty area with superb skill.

Without a doubt, Gerrard. Lampard doesn't even come close when it comes to rising to the occassion and carrying a team on his back. Gerrard has proven that time and time again. Also, Gerrard doesn't have the luxury of having 10 world-class players playing with him on the pitch.
