What is the best thing that happened to you this week?

We had our son, his wife and daughter stay with us recently. Ever since the daughter was a toddler, they have made it a practice, at the end of the evening meal, that the daughter asks everyone the question "What is the best thing that happened to you today?"
They have now been doing it for almost ten years. With so much bad news in the world, and so many complaints, I think it is a good idea and sets the stage for a happy evening.
So, let's extend it slightly, and share some happiness and good news by asking "What is the best thing that has happened to you this week?"

Well Cloud the good thing that happens to me every day of the week is whne my Loved one calls me and when I see my Kids every Day and I am so grateful for them yes they have their faults but they are good Kids and I am so grateful for these Kids everyone has their faults

Family is so precious. I wish my family was a lot closer. I have two who are a four hour drive away, one a 12 hour drive, one across the other side of the country, about a 20 hour flight, and the youngest in England. Of course we talk on the phone a lot, but I wish they were closer.

Well when I move I will be 3 hours away from my Children as I am moving to the South for my Health and other reasons to
But I will always be here for my Kids and they know that I drive and they drive so it is no Problem
I have to admit it will be hard at first but I have to do it

Well friend theres not been a lot happening in this neck of the woods this week as I have not had much inclination to go out (angina) but I'm off tonight with my son and the kids for a restaurant dinner as its my daughter-in-laws birthday. So you might say that this is going to be the best thing that has happened this week for me.
But hey, we still have another 3 days to go so ask me again on Sunday!

wow. You should be extreme happy to see that your son is instilling a good trait in your granddaughter. Because in a world full of bad, it is always best to look for the good. .
The best thing that happened to me this week...My best freinds mother and sister found Jesus. My friend and I had both been praying for them for a while now. They live in Mexico and the area where they live there are no Christian churches....So we are still praying! God Answers Prayer!!!

My son-in-law had a curling bonspeil in our town and he and my daughter and my two grandchildren stayed here overnight. They went back home yesterday, and the only one that was glad to see them go was our puppy. The kids love our dog and they love to chase puppy and puppy has other ideas for fun. They got along very well for the most part but we had to laugh because before they left we couldn't find puppys favorite toy, which is a yellow football that has a squeeker in it. No time after the kids left out comes the ball. My guess is puppy was afraid the kids would take the ball so it was hidden. Pretty clever dog mind you maybe time we teach puppy to share. LOL Sure felt GREAT to have my kids home even if it was for a short time !!!

I agree it is ALWAYS great to have family home.
I think dogs often have more intelligence than we give them credit for.

The best thing that has happened to me this week is being able to talk to my sister who had been missing for over 2 months. She was "found" (actually finally just showed up at my mom's) and I finally got to talk to her. Not that it did any good. But it was nice to hear her voice.

That must have been a hard time for you and your mum. It would have been good to hear her voice and at least know she is safe. I am sure you will be able to help her.

Wow, this is a nice practice of optimism and this would really help you out to see the world around you in a better, happier and bright perspective.
The good thing that happened to me this week is that my father came to visit and would probably stay around for a week or two. It's always pleasing to have your family around whom you could talk to about everyday stuffs at work or at home.

i used to do that question to my children before i tucked them in at night. it gave them happy thoughts for the end of the day. it was a family ritual, and i really miss those days. they are all grown up, and they still talk about that question we shared when they were young. hopefully they will do that when they have children! The best thing that happened to me this week is reading your question! it has brought back those great memories, thank you.

The best thing that happened to me this week was finding out mylot.com. At first I used to ignore my friend's reminder to check out the website and see the benefits it has to offer. Not only am I earning money, I earn knowledge. I earn wisdom. I ear friends. I earn respect. What a great week for more possibilities and opportunities for growth and development.

Music is a good thing (providing it isn't a neighbour's so-called music blasting out my nice relaxing music, that is. I know you wouldn't be an inconsiderate person, though. You would respect other people's rights.

Best thing this week. EASY! My 5yr old is reading WAY above the curve for his age! He read me a story! Topping that is going to be difficult this week.

around monday, my boyfriend said some mean things to me and we were about to break up..we didn't speak all day yesterday...but today, we finally talked it out and I feel so much better

I am sure if you look hard enough you can find something for which to be thankful. The week isn't over yet and maybe something great is just around the corner.

This week,I have been fortunate enough to have seen/talked to almost every one of my siblings and my father.I also got to talk to my niece and 2 of my nephews.It was a great week!

I spent my weekend with my bf and celebrate with all the Cebuanos the Sinulog which is annually celebrated here in Cebu (Philippines). As the usual, a lot of foreigners visited our place just to witness the street dancing participated by contingents from other provinces. All of us had a great fun especially in the evening because there were a lot of live bands in every corner in the city.
