Exactly how does one approach donors?

I really love managing a children's home coz Ive worked in one for over four years now, Ive seen these kids life change from death to living again! Many of them have turned from being HIV positive to negative and to me this are Gods miracles but how do I approach people to hold the future for this beautiful ones? I would very much want to help them!

Write letters to companies that have products you need. Make sure the letter is written well and speaks clearly of your needs. Also be sure to include documentation that home for children is non-profit etc. Most companies will help even if it is sending coupons or giving you a discount at their store.
