I suffer from the whole shebang. I get the pms and the crying, mood swings, depression and the works with the time of the month coming on. Then the anger, emotional outbursts start. I can go through an entire spectrum of emotions in a mere couple of minutes not to mention the excruciating cramps that feel amazingly like labor pains.

I'm lucky enough not to have the cramps like labour pain. WOW! Isnt' that more like endometriosis? I knew a girl who had that, and her pms pains were so bad she had to take a few days off work every month! She found out she had endometriosis.

It is common for women to suffer pain associated with their normal menstrual cycle. One type of pain that you may experience is congestive pain. This occurs a few days before your period and usually improves when bleeding begins. Women describe this pain as a deep, dull ache.
Pain during your period is known as dysmenorrhoea. Dysmenorrhoea is usually classified into primary or secondary dysmenorrhoea.

Thanks :D what ever causes it, its still hell and despite medical jargon, I swear there is an animal in there having a rip roaring time with my organs. It gets doped with pain relief.

I take medication for mine now, it has certainly eased the pain and the nausea, but I still need to sleep for a few hours during the first two days.

Its still hell though, regardless of it being natural and there are things out there, prescription and non-prescription that can dull the pain.

My mood swings are at it's peak just before and during my period. I'm a sensitive person to begi n with, so you can just imagine how "on edge" I am when I'm on my period..it doesn't take much to bring me to tears. I also feel really crampy during this time, but that's nothing compared to the mood swings that I experience.

I get a little moody but mostly emotional; I crave chocolate and if I don't have some, I feel like I am going to go insane. My periods are really heavy so I have a lot of back cramps to deal with. Sometimes I take some over the counter meds to deal with that but I try not to unless the pain is really bad.

I used to have very very bad period pains and when I say bad I mean I used to pass out in pain. It was a whole nightmare for me for 10 years. I have fainted and passed out in pain in so many places. Then I went on the pill and now I dont even notice when I get my period. No pain. Nothing. Its really changed my life!

I used to suffer from feeling sick on the first day of my period. It's gotten a lot better now. Oddly enough on my period and a little bit after it's over I'm emotional. More sad/crying then cranky. And I experience food cravings of both salt and chocolate. Nestle Flipz snack is perfect when I have the craving.

thanks for asking this. I just asked a question somewhat like this. I really want to know how other women experience it too. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one.
