Police Brutality, Why do they get away with it?

Surely some of you have seen the video of police kicking a mental man while was down, broke his ribs, punctured his lungs, etc. The police always get away with it, even though it was on film. I was a victim of police brutality once, how can I possibly win over someone who gets away with murder? There is no "Innocent until proven guilty"! The police thinks they are the judge and jury. Acting like they own the law. This is just WRONG! Has anyone else here in MyLot ever been a victim of this crime too?..
