I dont agree atall. Product may die but not the brand. The reason a corporate spends so much of money in branding is because of longevity. A brand grows and grows if properly nurtured with the time. It becomes association, it become choice, it becomes emotion, it becomes the reason in long term. It gives more and more business. For example IBM, Coke, Unilever, all these are very old yet powerful. But there are brands which fads away. It all depends on your strategy.
