Do you really need to understand the lyrics

of a song to really enjoy the music? Are there songs (mostly foreign to you) that you like the music very much but just don't understand what they say. I do.

Yes we have to understand what are we singing.We have to internalize the song. Jesus said in mat.5:11 What goes into man's mouth does not make him unclean,but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him unclean.

I personally do. My husband is a musician and records his own CD's. Im his worst critic. I am constantly on him that I cant understand the words he is singing. I find it annoying not being able to understand the lyrics. Now, I do have to mention that my husband's music is christian, so to me it is important that the message he is trying to send out is understood. My .02
